Chitwan National Park lies in the subtropical lowlands of the terai. It covers 932 Sq. Km. The Park is home to 430 different types of bird and mamaals.

Hotel Parkside is situated in the main entrance of the National Park. Parkside is a new, private family hotel run by a Nepalese family.

It has 16 rooms with solar heated hot and cold water, shower,WC and fan. Very quiet locaion directly bordering the National Park, Beautiful, tranquil roof terrace with views overlookingtheNational Park, rice fields and beyond to the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre. Parkside gives you Direct contact with Nepalese family. We are not a commercial tourist enterprise but a Nepalese family business that will be looking after you individually and attending to your wishes.

How to get Hotel Parkside:
Form Kathmandu or Pokhara it's 4 to 5 hour drive by tourist bus, to the last bus stop (Chitrasari) where our hotel staff waits for you. If you take public transportaion to Tandi (Sauraha Chock) our people will then bring you to the hotel. A 25 mins flight from Kathmandu to Bharatpur, 30 mins from the airport to the hotel by Car or Jeep.

What to bring:
May- September are Hot & Rainy months so please do bring a Rain coat and light clothing.
Dec-Feb is very cold so please bring warm clothing.

What else:
Sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen lotion, insect repellents, flashlight, light walking shoes, bicoculars and if possible a book about the National Park's flora and fauna. Please do bring general medicines for Fever, Stomach Problems, Headache, Plasters.

JUNGLE WALK :
Jungle walk includes in every packages. An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhino, wild bore, monkey, leopard, sloth bear, and the Royal Bengal Tiger (if you are lucky). You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home.

VILLAGE TOUR
Village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu Village where you will learn more about the life and lifestyle of the Tharus.

This take you to the national Park Visitor's Centre where you can learn more about the history of the National Park and about wildlife & at the last moment we have change to have Sun set view from the bank of Rapti River.

CULTURAL SHOW
In chitwan there is Tharu social groups, which they show their unique performance. In the evening before dinner tharu cultural dance perfomances used to held. Along this performance you willl be holding drinks and roasted meats to make you more entertainer.

CANOE RIDE
Canoe Ride an active package programme. This include in every pacakages. Canoe ride along the Rapti river will be an excellent opportunity for Bird Watching and for seeing the 2 rare species of crocodiles; the Marsh Mugger and the fish eating Gharial.

ELEPHANT SAFARI
Seated high on the back of a trained epelhant exploring the grasslands and core area of the park, you become an intergral part of the life of the national park. The elephant safaris, though not the most comfortable rides, is an amazing experience. And it doesn't take long to spot at least a rhino in these forests.

SUN SET VIEWING
It's a time to have full relax while sunset viewing. Have bottles of beer or cocktails you like then get influence of sun set viewing over the sky of England from Nepal. To share this pleasure moment it is good if you can manage 2 days rafting trip before here or we mean through the rafting route we can be there. This includes in every packages.

ELEPHANT BREEDING CENTER
Of all the animals, elephants are probably the most graceful. Our naturalists will take you to the Hattisar to domonstrate how elephants' meals are prepared and how they eat in the Elephant Breeding Centre. They will explain the nature and habits of elephants. The unique Centre was established in 1985 for the captive breeeding of domestricated elephants trapping for domestication.

JEEP DRIVE :
Jeep Drive one of the active and exciting activity for Jungle safari. Jeep drive include in above 3 nights four days package but on your special request it can be done the day you refer. Jeep Drive goes through the grasslands , riverine forests and sal forests to Kasara (the National Park's head quarters) Gharial Hatchery Farm where you will learn about how crocodiles are brought up at this farm & then later realeased into the rivers.
